For imperfect full versions follow the below instructions but replace the files
TFDTCTT8.DLL and DRMINST.DLL which are to be found in the Support directory.
For trial versions, do the following.
1. Unrar the exe installation file to c:\temp.
2. Copy the file avste.dll to C:\temp\NAV\External\NORTON and overwrite the
existing file.
3. copy the files TFDTCTT8.DLL and DRMINST.DLL to c:\temp.
4. It is advisable at this point to disable your internet connection otherwise t
he dialer will keep popping up and will drive you mad! Do this by clicking on S
tart, Programs, Accessories, Communications, Dial up Networking and delete your
ISP icons.
5. Now from c:\temp, double click the installation file to install.
6. After installing and a reboot, use the keygen to generate your CD Install
Key. Do not shut down your keygen as the next number it generates is dep
endent on this number and you cannot input it later.
7. If it gives a message that you must be connected to the internet just ignore
it and click again.
8. Go to Product Activation, select "Activate your product now, but
skip registration". It will complain that it cant connect to symantec
servers...
9. Press next until you get to the retry screen.
10. Select "Activate my software by phone" and use the keyge
n once
more to get your final unlock code.
11. At the Post install tasks, do not untick any boxes as it does n
ot seem to like this and will seize up.
Note - this crack would not have been possible without me getting a copy of NAVP
ro from Winzheng.com. Norton seem to change the above files very regularly so th
at even bought copies cannot be properly activated by the phone code method.
